Obv.: [T]IBEPIOY KAIC[APOC L IÏ‚ ] , legend "of Tiberius Caesar" and date L IÏ‚ (Greek year and numeral 16 = 29-30 AD.) surrounding simpulum (libation ladle). 
Rev.: [IOYΛIA] KAICAPOC , three bound heads of barley, the outer two heads drooping.

Pontius Pilatus was the fifth Roman Prefect of the Roman province of Judaea under emperor Tiberius from 26 to 36 AD. In the English-speaking world known as Pontius Pilate, he is best known as the judge at Jesus' trial and the man who authorized the crucifixion of Jesus.
