The company is Dutch and specialised in things coffee. Its HQ is in De Meern, near Utrecht. I used to pass it by train twice a day, getting a whiff of coffee just when I needed one and couldn't have any :'(. DE carved out a good market for itself by introducing instant coffee (shudder). The company is well known for its coupons on the labels or packaging of their coffee and tea. The system is so popular that there are shops that show the company gifts, where you can collect the gifts, even with (partial) payment.

The token is for operating corporate coffee machines. The company DE Professioneel BV was established in 1977 by bundling Decoma (DE's own brand of coffee machines), Natoma (an acquired brand) and Moccomat. There is a version 22.5 mm cu-ni and a version 20 mm brass. There is another 21 mm brass DE type with a steaming cup, marked Anno 1753 above and the company name below.

DE took over Natoma (The Hague) in 1973. There are three varieties of a Natoma token: 22.5 mm cu-ni with slot and without slot and 20 mm brass. There is also a token with the name Natoma and a logo with the cypher AFO.

The company had a strategic alliance with the Danish producer of coffee machines Moccomat. This accounts for a further 6 tokens: 20 mm brass, 20 mm brass holed, 20 mm nickeled brass, 22 mm brass, 22 mm nickeled brass and 22 mm copper.
