Obv.: VICTORIA - QUEEN , her crowned and robed bust facing left, divided legend; all within a raised, toothed border, bust type "E". The front of the dress has 4 jabot panels, the bottom panel has a two flowers, relief v on ground-line of bust; (die-break at 6-7 ).
Rev.: ONE / QUARTER / ANNA / INDIA / 1862 , five lines legend within a beaded circle that is, in turn, surrounded by a serpentine wreath of vine leaves, all surrounded by a raised, toothed rim. Reverse type III - there is one leaf in centre below date.
