" Adaeus was a macedonian or thracian dynast who ruled over south-eastern Thrace. His main sphere of influence was probably the coast of the Propontis between Perinthus and the Thracian Chersones. From the bronze coin finds in Seuthopolis and Cabyle it is concluded that he also was of considerable commercial importance in the thracian mainlands. [Peter, 1997, p. 247-248]"
