Such coins with Triptolemos and a piglet on a staff (a sacrificial animal) are minted by the Athenians between circa 350 and 250 BC. The inscription ELEY(SI) is an abbreviation for Eleu(sinia), the name of the festival for the initiation into the Mysteries of Eleusis. This small change was especially used by initiants.
