Struck in the year after and commemorating the first Marcomannic War, a devastating event which threated not only the Danubian provinces, but Italy itself - the great city of Aquileia being besieged. During this 177 issue, Marcus and Commodus returned Rome after visiting the East (where Cassius' revolt took place); Commodus was raised to the rank of Augustus, and a new war against the germanic tribes was to be started, targeting the creation of new provinces in todays Bohemia and upper Hungary.
