Rev.: MVNI - [CIP STOBE]N , Hades carrying away Persephone (fighting against her rape) in quadriga galloping to right, holding her with his left arm, scepter and reins in his right hand.

Stobi was situated at the confluence of the rivers Axius and Erigon in the Paionia district of Macedonia. No coins are known to have been struck there before it became a Roman Municipium (probably at the times of Vespasian). Imperial issues are known from Titus and Domitian up to to Geta´s reign.
