Madho Rao Scindia (20 October 1876-5 June 1925), was the 5th Maharaja Scindia of Gwalior. He acceded to the throne in 1886 and ruled to his death in 1925. He was noted by the British Government as a progressive ruler of a princely state.
After India got its independence, the state of Gwalior was incorporated in the republic of India. After India`s independence in 1947, the Gwalior State was included in the new Indian state of Madhya Bharat.
