Anonymous, attributed to Alexios I `Comnenus´ (1081-1118 AD.), Constantinopolis (Constantinople) mint, struck 1085-1092 AD., (pre reform),
Follis (ø 27-29 mm / 5,05 g), copper, axes about medal alignment ↑↑ (ca. 340°), overstruck on earlier follis,
Obv.: IC - XC , bust of Christ facing, holding book of gospels, nimbus with single pellet in each cross arm, border of large pellets; triangular countermark on throat: face or arms(?).
Rev.: M - Θ , the Virgin standing facing, orans, nimbate, wearing pallium and maphorium, border of large pellets.
