Nikaia (Nicaea) in Bithynia, Caracalla, AE 30 (2 assaria?), 14,71 g., temple of Tyche, 212 AD
Obv.: ANTΩNINOC - AYГOYCTOC , Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind.
Rev.: TY - XH / AΓA - ΘH , front view of a hexastyle temple (of Tyche), various figures on it´s roof (four bigae?), a clipeus in the pediment ('Clipeus' is the Latin name for the round shield used by the Greeks and the early Romans) ; NIKAIE / ΩN in exergue.
Waddington, RG 478 ; Weiser - ; BMC - ; SNG von Aulock - ; SNG Cop. - ; Lindgren - ; Sear - . ( 3 specimens known so far)

An issue in connection with the eastern campaign of Caracalla in 212 AD., the Greek text besides the temple means -Tyche agathe- "for the goddess of luck" or "for the goddess of the town" (Tyche = Fortuna in Latin)
