Crawford 085/1a, Roman Republic, 211-210 BC., mint in southeast Italy, anonymous H-series, Quinarius
Roman Republic (mint in southeast Italy 211-210 BC.), Anonymous. 
Quinarius (15-16 mm, 1,90 g). silver, axis coin alignment ?? (ca. 180°), 
Obv.: Head of Roma r., wearing winged helmet ornamented with griffin's head; mark of value V (= 5 As) behind. 
Rev.: The Dioscuri Castor and Pollux on horseback galloping to right, naked with the coat floating over the shoulder, wearing a cap surmounted by a star, each holding couched spear, below, H and ROMA within linear frame.

For this type Crawford estimated forty obverse dies and fifty reverse dies for both varieties. This quinarius is in fact rarer than the various general works suggest. 3 discovered specimens according https://www.lesdioscures.com/320an-quinaire-anonyme/ )    

The denarius of that era is distinguished by the mark X (= 10 as). The quinarius, with the V mark, is equivalent to 5 as. Another divisional silver coin, the sestertius, marked HS, and worth 2.5 as  in the monetary system. So tThe quinary corresponds to the half denarius and the sestertius to the quarter denarius. 

Roman history of thst era: Scipio Africanus captures Carthago Nova, but cannot prevent Hasdrubal from crossing into Italy. The latter was killed at the battle of Metaurus in 207 BC. Scipio then brought the war to Africa in 204 BC, which forced the Carthaginians to recall Hannibal. The Carthaginians were defeated at Zama in 202 BC and then asked for peace the following year.
