Obv.: 10 / ΛΕΠΤΑ / 2009 / ΡHΓAΣ ΦEPAIOΣ / ΓΣ , bust of Rigas Feraios 3/4 right, his name in Greek letters on breast, date left, mint mark (stylized acanthus leaf / "Anthemion flower") and value right, twelve stars of Europe around.
Rev.: 10 EURO / CENT / LL , a map of Europe (2nd map type, no borders) on the left, six fine lines cut through the sea, breaking when passing through the map, and at their ends at the top and bottom are twelve stars (reflective of the flag of Europe). To the right, in raised lettering, is "10 Euro Cent" with the '10' being shown much larger than the words. The designers initials, LL (Luc Luycx), appear next to the 0 in 10.

Rigas Feraios (or Rhegas Pheraeos) or Rigas Velestinlis (or Rhegas Velestinles), born Αντώνιος Κυριαζής, Antonios Kyriazis; (1757 – June 13, 1798) was a Greek writer, political thinker and revolutionary, active in the Modern Greek Enlightenment, remembered as a Greek national hero, a victim of the Balkan uprising against the Ottoman Empire and a forerunner of the Greek War of Independence.
