Love Token (former Shilling) (23,6 mm / 5,54 g) (originally 5,6552 g), Fineness: .925 Silver, .075 Copper, 
Obv.: VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIAR: REG: F: D: , late-style young head of Victoria left (the second head). 
Rev.: changed reverse: crowned AH -monogram / Kiel engraved [instead of ONE / SHILLING] / 1885 , wreath (no die number above date).

Probably engraved at Kiel, Germany and used as a love token, medal or gift.

Mintage 3.336.527 specimens. During the reign of Queen Victoria in excess of one million shillings were minted each year. There are three main types of Victorian shilling, and each of these has sub-types, some of which are scarce. All basically have the Young Head portrait of the Queen on the obverse, with a ONE SHILLING design as for William IV on the reverse.
