Vom 14.-18.5.1975 fand das III. Festival der Freundschaft zwischen der Jugend der UdSSR und der DDR in Halle an der Saale (damals DDR) statt, an dem 30.000 Sozialisten der DDR und Komsomolzen aus der UdSSR teilnahmen.

It is sometimes described as the youth division of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU), although it was officially independent and referred to as "the helper and the reserve of the CPSU".

The Free German Youth, also known as the FDJ (German: Freie Deutsche Jugend), is a socialist youth movement in Germany. Formerly it was the official youth movement of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) and the Socialist Unity Party of Germany.
