Obv.: Θ[EOΣ] , crowned head (corona civica) of Julius Caesar right; countermark before: ligate JM in circle of ca. 7 mm.
Rev.: ΘE[ΣΣ]A - ΛONIKEΩN / Δ (under bust) , bare head of Octavianus (Augustus) right.
RPC I 1554 ; SNG ANS 824 ; BMC 58 var. ; for countermark: Howgego GIC 705 (1 spec.) .
RPC tentatively dates the type to the reign of Augustus but notes it may have been struck as late as the reign of Domitian.
