Copying the interesting and unique type of Constantople showing Saints Peter and Paul embracing one another, imitative of of Byzantine coins of period belonging to Manuel and Alexios. (Malloy catalogs it at $60 in Fine condition). Constantinople was sacked by Crusaders in 1204 and subsequently a number of feifdoms were carved out of the region. This coin was minted in Thessalonica during the time of Baldwin I (Crusader) but prior to 1221 parts of the region were handed to Boniface, Marquis of Montferrat.
