Minted in the name of Julia Maesa, who was the grandmother of both Elagabalus and Severus Alexander. She was largely responsible for the rebellion which overthrew Macrinus and restored the Severan dynasty to power. She survived the assassination of Elagabalus, and died in 225 AD, during the reign of Severus Alexander.
