The late 1st century coinage of Patras consists of five denominations: silver triobols, and bronze hemiobols (hexachalkoi), tritemoria (third obols or tetrachalkoi), tetartemoria (quarter obols or trichalkoi) and 1/6 obols (dichalkoi). We know of thirteen magistrates who signed this coinage with their full names and patronymics. Metrodoros Menekleos probably begins the series because his hemiobols are clearly heavier (average of between 7.1-7.3 g) than those produced by the four other magistrates who issued them (all around 6.00 g). Today´s date suggest the series of magistrates may be arranged as follows: I. Metrodoros Menekleos (heavy hemiobols and the unique tritemorion); II. Lykon Damotimou (tritemoria); III. Aristarchos Damonos (tritemoria and tetartemoria); IV. Nikostratos Kallistratou (light hemiobols); V. Archikrates Dikaiarchou (light hemiobols); VI. Archimed… (tritemoria). VII. Damasias Agesilaou (hemidrachms, tetartemoria and sixth obols); VIII. Aristomenes Aristodamou (tetartemoria); IX. Xenophantos Sosistratou (tetartemo ria); X. Agias Lysonos (Cleopatra hemiobols); XI. Agys Aischrionos (hemidrachms); XII. Aischrion Lysia (light hemiobols and tetartemoria); XIII. Andron Lysixenou (light hemiobols).
