British India, Victoria, engraver: William Wyon (obverse), Calcutta mint, dated 1862 AD., minted from 1862 through 1873, 
¼ Rupee (ø 19,3 mm / 2,88 g), 0.917 silver, 2,92 g. theor. mint weight, mintage 19.412.000 , axes medal alignment ↑↑ (0°), reeded edge (coarse milling),
Obv.: VICTORIA – QUEEN , her crowned and robed bust of the queen facing left (inverted V at centre of bust truncation), all within a raised, toothed rim. Obverse type A - The front of the dress has 4 panels. A flower appears at the right on the bottom panel. 
Rev.: 1/4 / RUPEE / INDIA / 1862 , within an entwined scrollwork of Indian flora, all surrounded by a raised, toothed rim. Reverse I - The top flower has petals at its base that are long and curve downward. The slash in "1/4" is long, the top almost touching a flower.
