The Imperial Abbey of Corvey or Princely Abbey of Corvey (German: Stift Corvey or Fürstabtei Corvey) was a Benedictine abbey on the River Weser, 2 km northeast of Höxter, now in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It was one of the Imperial abbeys of the Holy Roman Empire from the late Middle Ages until 1792 when the abbey was dissolved and Corvey converted into a prince-bishopric. It was in turn secularized in 1803 and absorbed into the newly created Principality of Nassau-Orange-Fulda. In 2014, the former abbey was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 1792, Corvey ceased to be a Benedictine abbey and was raised by pope Pius VI to the status of a prince-bishopric. Theodor von Brabeck (abbot/bishop 1776-94) and Ferdinand von Lüninck (bishop 1794-1825) were the last ecclesial princes at Corvey.

Johann Karl Theodor Freiherr von Brabeck, O.S.B. (* 19. Juli 1738 in Hamm; † 25. Oktober 1794) war Abt und ab 1792 Fürstbischof von Corvey.
Er stammte aus dem westfälischen Adelsgeschlecht Brabeck. Sein Vater war Peter Franz Walter von Brabeck. Die Mutter war Maria Ottilia (geborene Schenck von Niddeg). Brabeck trat in das Kloster Corvey ein und wurde 1762 in Hildesheim zum Priester geweiht. Im Jahr 1776 wurde er Abt von Corvey. Er arbeitete auf die Umwandlung der Abtei in ein Bistum hin, um auf Dauer den Fortbestand zu sichern. Dies wurde 1792 erreicht. Er wurde erster Fürstbischof von Corvey. Begraben ist er in der Abtei Corvey.
